Janice Thornton Tabb, 76, passed away on March 28, 2024, at her home in Wesley Chapel, FL. She was born on May 18, 1947, in Provo, UT. Janice spent her early childhood with her parents, Bobbye Joyce Howell and William Thomas Thornton, in Birmingham, AL. She spent her teen years in Winter Park, FL, where she was a cheerleader, won the title of Miss Teen Southeast, and graduated from Winter Park High School in 1965. She later moved to Dade City, FL, in 1971, where she achieved her degree from Pasco-Hernando Community College. Janice married James K. Tabb, Jr. "Jim" in 1981, and they were blessed to have four children. She retired in 2000 after a lengthy career in banking. She was committed to her church family at St. Marys Episcopal Church in Dade City, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years and served on the Vestry and Altar Guild. Janice thoroughly enjoyed gardening, boating, fishing, the beach, and especially loved spending time with her family. She was an excellent cook; her meals were enjoyed by friends and family alike.

She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Jim, and their four children: Trey Phillips (Veronica Vanni), Jeff (Sharon) Phillips, Chris (Emily) Tabb, Allison (Alex) Sclavakis and their ten grandchildren: Sagan, Gabrel, and Bela Vanni-Phillips; Harrison and Megan Phillips; Landon, Taylor, and Ella Tabb; and Lexi and Andrew Sclavakis. She is also survived by her brother, Daniel Craig Thornton, her cousin Gayle Mastak, brothers-in-law Bob (Darcel) Tabb, Tom (Cindy) Tabb, and many nieces and nephews. Janice was predeceased by her mother, father, brother William T. Thornton, and infant sister Joyce Gail Park.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4th at 11am at St. Marys Episcopal Church in Dade City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Marys Episcopal Church in Dade City.
