HANCOCK, Janice (Jan) Kay 77 of Dade City, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017. Janice was born April 14, 1940 to Chester & Vera (Groesbeck) Kline in Omaha, NE. She attended Saratoga grade school and Omaha North High School. Jan obtained her degree in nursing while living in Eau Claire, WI, being a nurse allowed her to enjoy the love she had of caring for others. She was a church organist, moving to Florida in 1989 and she stayed active in the music departments of the Spring Lake Church, United Church of God and Family, 1st United Methodist Church of Dade City, where she sang in the chancel choir. Jan loved the Lords music, memorizing poems & bible verses, was a quilter, enjoyed knitting, and crocheting and all flowers especially roses. She relocated to Florida in 1989. She was pre-ceded in death by her parents and son Jeffrey in 2000. Left to morn her passing are: her loving husband Thurman of Dade City, daughter Julie (Troy) Johnson of Eau Claire, WI, granddaughter Amanda (Joe) Witter, great, grandson Brayden Witter of WI, grandson Zach (Katie) Brommer and great grandson Parker Brommer of WI and a stepson Fredrick (Erwinna) Hancock of Dade City, step granddaughter Jessica and step great granddaughter Xaviana of FL, granddaughters Cassie Johnson, Jourdan Johnson & Mariana Johnson and great granddaughter Serenity Johnson, grandson Zayne Johnson. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church of Dade City. Jan will be laid to rest at Townsend House Cemetery.
