The world lost a shining light this week. Surrounded by loved ones, Janet Gonzalez Scotto, 62, of Dunedin, Florida passed on Wednesday, September 15th, 2021.

Born June 30, 1959 in New York, New York Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Harry Gonzalez, her brothers George and Henry, her niece Niki Gonzalez, and her husband Steven Scotto. She is survived by her Aunt Maria M. Posner, Uncle Rafael Gonzalez, and nephew George Michael Gonzalez, along with many cousins, extended family and a tremendous number of friends.

Although born in NY Janet spent several years living in San Francisco where she worked filing patents and created a great network of friends who will miss her dearly. She moved to Florida in the early 90s where she again collected a great deal of good friends. She was the "Mayor" in every community she lived. Everyone knew Janet and were touched by her kindness and grace in the face of adversity. She will be deeply missed.

Janets ashes will be flown to New York and laid to rest at the Pine Lawn Cemetery in Long Island. There will not be a service in Florida. We ask that all of you please pray for our girl! The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, to please make a donation to nationalmssociety.org
