Janet Lee Flynn, age 71, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, in Dade City, Florida.

Born on November 4, 1953, in Fort Myers, Florida, Janet was the daughter of James William Flynn and Sara Annetta Duke. She grew up in Fort Myers, where she spent the majority of her life surrounded by family and friends. Janet attended Hillsborough High School and went on to build a fulfilling career as the head steward of a private yacht—a role she took great pride in and worked in for many years.

Janet had a deep love for books and found joy in the simple pleasure of reading. She also had a passion for watching tennis, never missing a chance to catch a match. Her quiet strength, kind heart, and devotion to her family were evident in all she did.

She was a beloved mother to Stephen Randal Pentaude (Evelyn Sheree Pentaude), Jason Dean Mauney, Derrick Flynn Mauney (Angel Mauney). Janet was also a proud grandmother to Elliana Mauney, Evan Mauney, Ava Mauney, Shawn Pentaude (Taylor Metcalf), and Zachary Pentaude, and a cherished great-grandmother to Scarlett Pentaude and Ryan Pentaude.

She is survived by her sisters Charlotte Rae Nicely, Kay Flynn, Jennifer Flynn, and Amy Lunger. She was preceded in death by her brother, Max Flynn.

A memorial service celebrating Janet's life will be held on Saturday, May 24th, 2025, at Alva Church of God in Alva, Florida at 1PM.

She will be remembered always for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and the warm light she brought to those around her.
