Obituary

Jane Mobley Morgan, age 77, of Dade City, FL, passed away peacefully from Pulmonary Fibrosis on May 17, 2025. Her family was gathered around her exactly as she wanted.

Jane was the daughter of Dennis and Elinore Mobley, born on December 22, 1947 in Dade City. Mike, her husband of 51 years, went to be with the Lord in 2021; her son Jeff in 2012. Jane is survived by her son Kevin and daughter-in-law Heather; her daughter-in-law Kassey; her grandsons Brian, Hayden, Luke, and Simon; her sister Martha; brother John and several nieces and a nephew.

As a first-grade teacher at Pasco Elementary School she taught almost all of her 30 years in the same classroom. After retirement she served senior adults in the Prime Timers ministry for many years.

She loved that she was a Florida girl – being on the water, fishing, feeding cows, and riding in the jeep with Martha as little kids.

Being a Grandmama was one of the greatest joys in her life! Many great memories were made going on adventures and camping with her grandsons. Jane valued family and treasured time together. Mike's brother, Steve, says, "The Morgan family is not large and often separated by large distances, but we always knew that everyone of us belonged and was loved by Jane no matter how far apart. She and Liz shared a special bond as two "sisters" lovingly managing the Morgan brothers for over 50 years. As the mother and grandmother of boys, Jane occupied a special place in the lives of her three Morgan nieces."

With deep family roots in Dade City, Jane grew up in First Baptist Church (Discover Fellowship Church), began following Jesus as a child, joined the church, and sang many years in the choir. Many people recall stories of how Jane touched their lives. She taught both the children and grandchildren of some of her first students. She showed the love of Christ to her family, friends, people in the community, and to outsiders.

Jane's love for Jesus and her desire for others to know Him were her purpose in life.

Funeral to be held at 11am, Saturday, May 24, 2025 at First Baptist Church, Dade City. Visitation at the church beginning at 10am. Funeral will be followed by a brief graveside service at Mount Zion Cemetery.
