James "Jim" Nelson Smith died peacefully in Hospice care in east Pasco County on January 22, 2018. He was 74. Jim was born on February 23, 1943, in Harrisburg, PA, to Harry and Ruth Smith. Two years later, Ruth married Wallace Dawson, whom Jim came to know as the father in his life. Jim graduated from Pasco High School in 1961, and then went on to serve his country in the Army. He was discharged in 1967. Jim wore many hats aside from managing and owning San Antonio Restaurant and Lounge. He was a reporter for Channel 8 News, and a clerk for the USPS in Saint Leo, FL. He was also very giving of his time, having served on the Board of Directors for San Antonio Federal Citizens Credit Union, and was a member of the San Antonio Jaycees, the King Lake Club, and the 35-40 Club. He also gave of his business, San Antonio Restaurant and Lounge, for benefits and other fund-raising events, illustrative of his strong bond to the local community. Visitation
