James Paul Blake, 52, of Dade City, FL, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Dade City, surrounded by his family, after battling a long illness.

Born on May 24, 1974, in St. Petersburg, FL, to Norman and Virginia Blake, James was a friend to all who knew him and a best friend to anyone who shared his love of all things outdoors, especially fishing. James lived a rich and full life for his 52 years and did everything with great passion: possessing a love for 80's music and the WWE. Having lived the majority of his adult life in St Petersburg, FL James would be the first to help anyone in need. He will be remembered fondly for his selflessness.

He is survived by his mother, Virginia Dew Blake; his sister, Sandra Blake Boles; his brother, Jonathan (Mindy) Blake; his nephews, Isaac, Tyler, Elijah, Charles, and Levi; his nieces, Lexi (Lance) and Adelina; his great-niece, Leighton; his uncle, Terry Newkirk; many cousins; and his cat, Ruby.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norman J. Blake, his dog Rudy, and his cat, Shadow.
