James Christopher Palmer, 72, of Dade City, Florida passed away on November 16, 2022, in Dade City, Florida. He was born on February 1, 1950, in Sanford, Florida to Lambert and Clara Palmer and siblings, Tom and Phebe. He married Sharon Lewis in 1971 till 1999. James and Sharon had three children: Diana, Rebekah and Christopher. James was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He severed from 1970 to 1990, the end and after Vietnam War, retiring as an E-7 (TSgt). He was stationed in several places including Germany, England, New York Adirondacks, and North Dakota. During his time in the military, he survived a 3-month period as a POW in Cambodia.
In 2001 he met his last wife, Rebekah McInnis, in Jax, Florida. James and Rebekah were married by her father, Harold E Jewell, with her mother and grandmother as witnesses, and her oldest son as ringbearer in front of her upright grand piano on May 3, 2002.James and Rebekah had one son: Thomas Palmer. They resided in several residences in Jax until 2018 when they moved to Zephyrhills.
He is preceded in death by his two sons: Christopher Palmer and Thomas Palmer.
James is survived by his wife: Rebekah Palmer; Children: Diana (Todd) Mestrich and Rebekah Everhart; Grandchildren: Tabatha, Gracy Mestrich, and Miranda and Kayleb Everhart; In-laws: Harold and Judy Jewell; Siblings: Tom Palmer and Phebe Walker; Cousin: Sara McNabb and church friends at Fellowship Bible Church.
A memorial service for James will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Bible Church; 6407 Fort King Road, Zephyrhills, Florida 33542.
