James Arthur "Jim" Novotny, 72, of Dade City FL., passed away October 29, 2015 while on vacation in Georgia. Jim was born on September 23, 1943 in Winter Park, FL. He graduated from Boone High School, and later the University of South Florida. He served honorably in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve. Jim and his wife Jean moved to Dade City 23 years ago and are the proud owners of The Corner Emporium. Jim was an avid boat and fishing enthusiast that loved spending time with his family, and fishing with his boys. Jim is survived by his wife (Jean Novotny), three sons (Alan, Brian, and Randall Novotny), two daughter-in-laws (Laura and Melissa Novotny), three grandchildren (Dylan Novotny, Devyn Novotny, and Taylor Stagnolia), his sister and her husband (Marsha and Jerry Thames), two nieces (Cheryl Thames and Tracey Woehler), and his beloved pets Lucky, Princess, and Georgia. Memorial services will take place Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, FL. (14046 5th Street) at 6:30 pm. The family will begin receiving guests at 5:30 pm.
