James "Lamar" Newsome was a caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He went to be with our Lord on September 7, 2021 at age 87. He was born to Ollis and Edna Newsome on November 24, 1933. He graduated from Pasco high where he played football and baseball. He retired from Carolina Freight in 1988. He married his wife Linda on February 14, 1970. Together they had 5 kids, Kenny (Linda), Fran, Cindy, Daniel, Jerry (Chris). They have 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Lamar loved spending his time hunting and fishing where he was a member at King Lake. When he wasnt hunting or fishing he would spend his time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Ollis and Edna Newsome and brother Doug Newsome. Services will be held at Hodges Funeral Home on 301 in Dade City on September 12th viewing at 1pm with service to start at 2pm. Reception to follow at Colt Creek State Park at 1600 FL 471 Lakeland.
