McCONNELL, James Woodrow, age 69, of Ridge Manor, FL passed away at his home on February 11, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. James was born on April 28, 1950 in Coeburn, VA to parents Woodrow McConnell & June (Crowder) McConnell. He was the second of 4 children and is survived by his brother, David McConnell and sister, Debbie Jones, both of Coeburn, VA. James married Jerelene "Jerry" Maggard in August of 1972 and in 1981 they moved to Ridge Manor, where he began working as a self-employed semi-truck driver. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, reading National Geographic magazine, as well as spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. James is survived by his children; Jason, Ginger, Carrie and Ben. His grandchildren: Karen, Kandace, Rachael, Justine, Hunter, Lani, JayLynn, Carleigh and Easton. His great-grandchildren: Lexi, Lauren, Wade, Matt and Colston. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
