Obituary

James Dick Green, 85, of Zephyrhills passed away May 3, 2012 at HPH Hospice. He was born April 9, 1927 in Live Oak Florida and moved to Zephyrhills with his family in the early 30s. He attended Zephyrhills High School where he was a member of the first football team. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII.On August 15, 1945 he was honorably discharged. He was one of the first patrolmen of Zephyrhills Police Department under Chief Wells and Patrolman Roy Wells. In 1989 he retired from Pasco County Sheriffs Office after many dedicated years of service. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Pat Green; 3 daughters, Veronica Leonard, Vanesa Gregory, Linda Peters; 8 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; loyal friend and caregiver, Hap Jewell and numerous friends including, Lily Staten. Services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers family suggest donations be made to HPH Hospice, 37445 Clinton Ave, Dade City, FL 33525.
