JAMES (Jim) HENRY FUTCH, JR., 67, Dade City, FL, passed away suddenly on December 21, 2017. Grandson of Eustis Futch and Kate Brown Futch of Dade City, FL, Jim was a proud life-long resident of Dade City. While attending Florida Southern College, he met and married his wife of 45 years, Robin Schmidt Futch. Jim and Robin enjoyed domestic travel throughout their early and later years of marriage, most recently completing several cross-country drives to Alaska. Jim dedicated his working life to serving his community by working in property appraising and land acquisitions for 35 years. He enjoyed amateur auto racing for 21 years and told many entertaining stories of his time at the race tracks. In retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, camping, and boating. Jim was a devoted and tremendously loyal husband, father, and grandfather. Jim is preceded in death by his father, James Henry Futch, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Robin, their two daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie Futch Ehrlich (Matthew Ehrlich) and Genevieve Futch Taylor (Zachary Taylor), and grand-daughter Adeline Ehrlich. He is also survived by his siblings, Stephen Futch, Jeff Futch, Jane Hancock, and Suzanne Futch. Jim was passionate about fairness and helping others and regularly donated supplies to The Haven, a homeless respite care center. A memorial service will be held 2pm Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home.
