Jimmy was a stoic, kind man and a great provider for his family. He enjoyed simple pleasures like a good milkshake, watching a good or bad movie, but particularly loved to be ornery from time to time with a deeply sarcastic delivery behind an intoxicating wry smile. Jim was always ready with a one liner or quippy response, seemingly prepared for anything with at least three of everything! James and his son, Jeremy, enjoyed spending time together watching Lets Make a Deal and The Price is Right everyday, going to Tampa Bay sporting events, Thursday nights at the bowling alley, and collecting Tampa Bay sports memorabilia. They were two peas in a pod! When not with Jeremy, Jim enjoyed socializing with friends by participating in the Bowling and Golfing leagues here in Zephyrhills, as well as a regular Sunday round of Golf. Jim also looked forward to a yearly March Madness vacation in Vegas with his sons, Justin and Gunnar.Survivors include his children, Laura Chauncey, Jay Chauncey and wife Heather, Justin Chauncey, Jeremy Chauncey and Gunnar Chauncey; grandchildren, Jacob Chauncey, Sydney Ables and Tristan Chauncey; siblings, Anita Payne and husband Tom, Larry Chauncey and wife Darlene, Keathel Chauncey and wife Taryn, Debbie Larkin and husband Bill.A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, Zephyrhills for all his beloved family and friends.
