BRININSTOOL, James, 87 of Zephyrhills, FL died peacefully with his family on Monday, September 6, 2021. Jim was born in Eaton Rapids, MI to Claud & Ella (Miller) Brininstool. He married Mary Elaine McCaslin on August 10, 1954. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force as a jet fighter mechanic during the Korean War. After completion of his military service, Jim was employed by General Motors in Lansing, MI and worked in Experimental Engineering. Jim & Elaine first settled in Lansing, MI then moved to DeWitt, MI in 1971. After Jims retirement in 1992 after 40 years of service, the couple moved to Farwell, MI and later permanently moved to Zephyrhills, FL. Jim & Elaine were married 63 years when she passed away in 2017. Jim was also preceded in death by his father, Claud J. Brininstool, and his mother, Ella Mary Brininstool. Jim was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, enjoyed serving others as a volunteer with HPH Hospice for numerous years, and he and Elaine were recognized several times by Hospice for their volunteer efforts. Jim is survived by his 3 daughters; Melissa Ward of Zephyrhills, FL, Kathleen (Ken) Gilding of Galion, OH and Tamara (Keith) Kapanka of St. Clair, MI, 6 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren. Jim is also survived by 4 siblings; Barney (Karen) Brininstool, Mary Lou (Tom) Luttrell, Joan Jenkins, and Gary (Linda) Brininstool. A small service will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL the end of October. A memorial service will be held in Michigan on October 16, 2021. A Memorial service will be held in Michigan on October 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eaton Rapids Church of the Nazarene, 2225 S. Michigan Road, Eaton Rapids, MI.
