James Babcock Obituary
James Frank (Jim) Babcock, 75, of Dade City, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021.
Eldest son of three to Mary Ann (nee) Kappen and architect John Babcock, Jimmy was born November 26, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating from Brush High School, he had served in the Marines and following training at Camp LeJeune, he served two years in Okinawa. After his return, he graduated from General Computers.A successful career in sales preceded his appointment to Director of Information Technology at Associated Estates.For the past 17 years, Jimmy served as a Senior Tax specialist at H&R Block. Despite suffering a stroke in 1997 he persevered while preparing tax returns. Jim continued his passion for golf and got a hole-in-one in 2002 and 2004 while still in Ohio.Both friends and family referred to him as "Gentleman Jim" for being well dressed and mannerly. He loved golf, the Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State football and a good steak.Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and brother David, all of Cleveland.Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Judy Neracher, a daughter Patti, brother Gary (Judy), sister-in-law Gail Babcock, and two nephews Greg and Matthew Babcock, and a host grand nieces and nephews.
