James "Tiny" Donald Austin Sr, 68, returned to his heavenly home on May 25, 2015. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him and ultimately gave him peace. Tiny was born to the late James Dessie Austin and Cordell Austin on August 20, 1946. He attended Pasco High School where he played football and affectionately earned the nickname "Tiny" due to being the biggest guy on the team. TIny was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his wife Mary Austin on April 13, 1969. Tiny and Mary had one son, James Jr. Tiny became a Mason in 1981. Anyone who knew Tiny could tell how important the Masonic heritage was to him. He spent the last 34 years practicing and teaching to anyone willing to learn. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator. Tiny is survived by his wife, Mary; his son James Jr (Jenn); his grandchildren Justin, Kaitlyn, and Aiden; his brother, Jack Austin and his sisters, Betty Austin, Iris Moore, and sister-in-laws Glenda Lang and Patsy Arnold. As well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Austin, his parents, and his mother and father-in-law, Bill and Guendelene Byars.A visitation will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 chapel on Thursday, May 28th, 2015 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, with a funeral service on Friday May 29th, 2015 at 10:00 am. James will be laid to rest in Floral Memory Gardens cemetery. The family gratefully declines flowers. Donations may be made to the Masonic Home of Florida or Gulfside Hospice.
