James “Allen” Franklin of Lacoochee, Florida went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 14th, 2026, at the age of 75. Born March 10th, 1951 in Dothan, Alabama, Allen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who deeply loved his family. He was an incredibly gifted guitarist, and above all, his faith was firmly rooted in Christ. He desired that everyone would come to a relationship with Jesus.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna Franklin, children Jennifer Clarke and her husband Homer, Amanda Peranteau and her husband Joshua; grandchildren Nicolas J. Clarke and his wife, Angelica, and Alliah, Joshua, and Isaac Peranteau, and his great-grandchild, Nicolas A. Clarke.

Allen was preceded in death by his father, Beachem Franklin, his mother, Betty Jo Franklin, and sister, Brenda Franklin.

The family will hold a private memorial to celebrate Allen’s life. Allen’s compassion, wit, warmth, and unconditional love for his family will be deeply missed.
