Mr. Jack Edward Johnson, Sr, passed away Saturday evening, May 24, 2025 at the age of 93. Jack was born on March 9, 1932 in Lake City, Florida to the late Frederick M. and Gertrude C. Johnson and raised primarily in Sulfur Springs, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy H. Johnson, and three of his five siblings: Freddie Mae Crumpton, David L. and Robert M. Johnson.

Upon the death of his father, Jack moved to Dade City where he graduated from Pasco High School in 1950. He gave up his dream of studying science in college for a job with DeCarr Covington as an accountant to help support his mother and siblings. He also joined the Army National Guard in support of his country. In 1953, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Herndon and began to build a good life and a large family. When Mr. Covington died, he went to work for Jackson Products in Tampa eventually becoming Vice President/Controller and Chief Financial Officer. After retirement, he enjoyed many years of consulting work for his brother Tom's company, Global Imaging. He was a hard worker, great provider, devoted family man, loyal friend and a good and humble man.

Jack is survived by his two brothers Fred M. Johnson (Jean), Jr and Thomas S. Johnson (Jane). He also left behind a large and healthy family who will miss him very much: his four children, Vicki Fenstermaker (Denny) of Valdosta, GA, Lynda Gutshall (David) of Bradenton, FL, Jack Johnson, Jr. (Shay) of Zephyrhills, FL, and Christi McKinney (Chris) of Bushnell, FL, ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The viewing will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM to be followed by the service at 11:00 AM at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. The burial will take place immediately following the service at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
