Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Isabella "Bella" Sophia Carlton, age 17, of Wesley Chapel, Florida. Bella departed this world far too soon on April 23, 2025, in Tampa, Florida. Born on May 6, 2007, in Tampa, she was the cherished daughter of Claudia Monroy and Michael Carlton, and beloved sister to Menahem Lopes.

Bella was a bright light whose joy, grace, and strength left an indelible mark on all who knew her. From a young age, she displayed a love for learning and excellence, beginning her academic journey at Chester Taylor Elementary, where she quickly became known for her dedication and achievements. Her proudest moment there was receiving the American Legion Certificate of School Award—a testament to her drive and integrity.

She continued her education at Thomas E. Weightman Middle School, where she not only excelled academically but also flourished musically. Bella joined the band, first playing the trombone, then the French horn. She was recognized as the "Leopard of the Year," a reflection of her dignity, leadership, and character.

In high school, Bella embraced new challenges with enthusiasm and excellence. She started at Pasco High School in the AICE (Advanced International Certificate of Education) program, which fostered her growth in confidence, responsibility, reflection, innovation, and engagement. Later, she transferred to Kirkland Ranch Academy of Innovation, where she continued to thrive academically and socially.

One of Bella's proudest and most joyous moments came during her senior year when she was crowned Kirkland Ranch Academy's first-ever Prom Queen. She radiated happiness as she FaceTimed her family with the news, unable to contain her excitement, dancing with pure joy.

Bella also worked at Shake a Salad, Urban Sweets, and most recently at B-Creative, where she brought her warmth and energy to every role. She was deeply involved in her church community, she held a leadership role in the Life Church Youth group, and received multiple honors, including AP recognition and a youth softball championship.

Bella's passions included church worship, reading scripture, makeup, tanning, beach days, shopping, fishing, baking, exploring, and enjoying activities like softball, pickleball, as well as arts and crafts. She was an adventurous spirit, always kind, thoughtful, and caring to everyone she knew.

She is survived by her loving parents, Michael Carlton and Claudia Monroy; her brother, Menahem Lopes; Grandparents Lee Carlton and Kathleen Carlton, Marina Garzon, Jorge Monroy and Maria Monroy; Aunts and Uncles: Linda, Catherine, Donna, Fil, Fanny, Alfonso, Jorge, Edna, Tito, Jessica, Francisco, Brandon.
