Horace J. S. Oat, 81 of Brooksville, FL went on to his heavenly reward on December 30, 2024. Horace was known by all as "Buddy". He was born April 26, 1943 to Horace J. and Frances Oat. Horace answered the call and served his country in the United States Army from 1964-1966. After serving, Buddy went on to live a life of service as a letter carrier for the United States Post Office. He retired after 35 years of dedicated service. Buddy was a dedicated Christian, avid Bible reader, and loved playing Solitaire on his phone.

Buddy was predeceased by his father Horace J., his mother Frances, and his stepson Carl J. Conaway Jr. He was survived by his wife Roberta May Oat, Stepchildren: Tammi L. Sartin (Mike), Michael J. Conaway (Lorena), Michelle B. Cox (Carlisle), six grandchildren: Heather, Patrick, Bobby, Kristen, Shayleigh, and Carlisle V, and one great grandchild: Elle.

He will be laid to rest in the Florida National Cemetery located at 6502 SW 102nd Ave. Bushnell, FL 33513 on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 2pm.
