Homer DeWayne Tanner died Monday, March 7, 2022. He was 60 years old. Homer was born in Tampa to parents Mary Laverne and Homer Lee Tanner. He lived in Tampa for many years working as a heavy equipment operator. He retired from his construction job in 2000. He & his youngest son, Homer, Jr have lived in Ridge Manor for 4 years and were making plans to open a BBQ restaurant. A dream they both shared, that will soon become a reality. Homer was a lifelong fisherman and hunter which he has passed down to his children and grandchildren. Homer dearly loved his family and cherished his children & grandchildren. Cooking was another one of his hobbies. He loved a big family BBQ. There would be lots of storytelling and laughter. Homer loved to laugh. He was kind and giving with a big heart. He would give you the shirt off his back (literally) if you needed it. Homer was very much loved and he will truly be missed. Homer was preceded in death by both his parents and his sister, Brenda Richardson. He is survived by his former spouse, Gloria Garcia Tanner. His three children, Homer D Tanner, Jr, Harold Williams (Susan), Tina Williams. His three siblings, Diane Stinson (Alan), Buddy Tanner (Karen), Armondo Ciccarello. His five grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on March 15th Visitation 12:00 pm.
