Hilda Mae Nesbit went home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2024. Hilda was born on February 24, 1934, in Richland, Florida to William Henry Nesbit and Edith L. Pearce.
Hilda lived her earlier years in Zephyrhills, graduating from Zephyrhills High School in 1952 after which she started raising three boys. She worked for the Pasco County Courts and retired from the Department of Corrections. She then reentered the work force and worked for the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections up until 2018 when she retired again.
Hilda was the organizer/coordinator of the Nesbit Family Reunion for 53 years; an avid bowler, bowling up to 4 night a week and traveling with her women's bowling group, The Turtles; she loved her pets, plants, orchids and fishing. Hilda loved socializing with family and friends and was known for "never meeting a stranger".
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents William H. and Edith Nesbit; her brothers H.C. Nesbit, Marion Nesbit and Bill Pomeroy; and grandsons Aaron Guynn and Brian Guynn.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Baker; sisters Murrel (Johnny) Dozier and Linda Pomeroy; sons, Russell (Martha) Guynn; Cory (Barbara) Guynn and Rex (Melinda) Guynn; 7 grand-children; 25 great-grand-children; and 2 great-great grand-children, numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, Jan 3, 2025, at Family of God Baptist Church, 10331 Old Lakeland Hwy, Dade City, FL. The visitation will be from 10 - 11 am, with the service at 11 am, followed by the gravesite at Richland Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation the Rex and Melinda Guynn(her youngest son and his wife) at Missionaries Ventures, Orlando, Florida.
