Doles, Herschel W. 93, of Columbus, IN, passed away on Saturday, Feb, 7, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Herschel was born on July 26, 1921 in Letts, IN.His parents, John R Doles and Clara Clark Doles raised him to be strong, kind heartedand hard working. Herschel was an avid sportsman and known to everyone as one of the best coon hunters in central IN. He was a WWII Veteran serving overseas and life long member of the American Legion. He retired from Cummins Engine Co. and was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Columbus, He will be missed by all whose hearts were touched by him. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Ruth (Settles), children Norman Doles (Mae) Mary Lafrinere (Jim) Gretchen McConville (Jim), Sister Opal Edelman, Grandchildren; Marnee Besser (Curt), Brian Lafrinere (Colleen), Shelby, Cory, Jake, Angie and Amanda, Great Grandchildren, Liam, Evie, Beckett, Ellie, Emma and Charlotte. A Service will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Hodges Family Funeral Home, Dade City, Hwy 301. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery. Bushnell, Fl.
