Obituary

In loving memory of Herman L. "Buck" Buchanan. He passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017. He served honorably and proudly in the US Navy from 1956 to 1976 during the Vietnam War. After retirement from the military, he opened up Buck's Pawn Shop in Dade City and owned numerous businesses in the Pasco area as well as in Alabama. He goes home to be with his father, Sonnie Buchanan, his mother, Paulene Frye, his sister, Kathleen Poole and his daughter, Christina Larry, and Granddaughter Kaitlynn Buchanan all from the Dade City area.He leaves behind a wife, Arlene Buchanan, two sons, Sonnie "Jacky" Buchanan and Herman "Bit" Buchanan, Jr. of Dade City, 3 brothers, Gene Buchanan of Auburndale, Fred Buchanan of Troy, Alabama and Sammy Buchanan of Lacoochee, eleven grandchildren and numerous friends in the Dade City area.A visitation will be at Hodges Family Funeral Home on US Highway 301 on Thursday, June 8th from 6-8 pm and a graveside service will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens on Friday, June 10, 2017 at 10 am. Please join the family to share fond memories of Buck Buchanan.In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to be given to Gulfside Hospice in Zephyrhills. Visitation
