Henry Emerson Mitchell, 87, of Dade City, FL, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014, surrounded by his family where he went to his heavenly home. He was a longtime member of Calvary Assembly of God in Dade City, FL. Recently he had been recognized by Tampa General Hospital for being one of their longest living surviving organ transplant patients. He received a kidney from his brother in 1977. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, Dec. 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Calvary Assembly of God, Hwy 98 Bypass, Dade City. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time also at the church. Emerson was born April 25, 1927 in Florala, Alabama and later moved to Dade City. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, JoAnn. His daughters Gail Shelton (George) and Toni Winn (Tim). Grandchildren Robin Palmer (Eddie), Crystal Clements (Buddy), Matt Winn, and Kelli Winn. Great-grandchildren Will, Megan, Chloe, Tyler, and Nate. He is preceded in death by his parents Anderson and Bertha Mitchell and two brothers, Samuel "Pete" and Thomas "Rusty" and sisters, Doris Hamilton, Merlie Thompson, and Bernice Williams.
