Helen Marie Thompson Harris was born in Fairfax, Virginia, on January 13, 1932, and on February 24, 2026, at the age of 94, she passed away peacefully at her home in Zephyrhills, Florida.
As a lifelong homemaker, Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful Christ follower. She enjoyed reading her Bible, praying, and attending church when she was able. She loved gospel music, gardening, feeding the birds and wildlife on her property, and was happiest when she was surrounded by family.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Otis Harris, oldest son, Charlie T. Harris, and son-in-law Richard L. Porter. She is survived by her children Ronnie J. Harris (Linda), Cindy S. Porter, and Kathy A. Harris.
Helen was a loving nanny to eight grandchildren: Michael O'Tinger (Brandi), Richard Harris, Christopher Harris (Tasha), Barbara Bertucci (Joseph), Beverly Mathews (Christian), Steven Olson (Amanda), Kimberly Barker (Shane), and Charlotte Sly.
Nanny was also blessed with fourteen great-grandchildren: Olivia O'Tinger, Lauren O'Tinger, Tyler Harris (Gabrielle), Taylor Harris, Braxton Harris, Dustyn Harris (Kinsey), Haydin Harris (Makayla), Dillon Harris, Gabriel Benitez (Cassandra), Elizabeth Helm (Tristan), Emily Mathews, Pearl Olson, Charity Lowe (Connor), and Karalee Harris.
Her long and cherished life allowed her to see her family's legacy grow to include four great-great-grandchildren: Nora Helm, Raya Helm, Arthur Lowe, and Matthew Lowe, with two more expected soon, Genevieve Harris and Bretton Harris.
Helen Marie leaves behind a legacy of steadfast faith, love, and devotion to family that will continue through generations.Psalms 127:3-5Proverbs 17:6John 14:1-6
