Hector Jose Zelaya, Sr. passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020, in his home surrounded by his family. Hector was born on 09/12/1940 in Honduras, to his parents Jose Zelaya and Doloris Mejia who both preceded him in death.

Hector is survived by his loving wife Amalia Hernandez Zelaya of 57 years, and their three children, daughter Gladys Zelaya, son Hector Jose Zelaya, Jr. (Cathy), daughter Mirtza Zelaya Springfield (Doyle), four amazing grandchildren, Suzanne Springfield, Ryan Zelaya, Brady Zelaya, and Zachary Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.

Hector was a devoted husband to his wife Amalia who he loving referred to as "My Wife" married for 57 years.

Hector was a man that loved the sea and worked as a Mariner for over 25 years and made many journeys around the world. Hector spoke Spanish, English, and German. Hector and Amalia moved to the US in 1980 to build a better life for their family. Hectors strong work ethic was recognized by all his employers, Zephyr Egg, Winn Dixie, and Florida Hospital-Zephyrhills where he worked together with his wife until they both retired on the same day in 2009.

After retirement Hector continued to be active working in his yard, spending time with his grandchildren and reading his Bible and attending church at New Walk Church, Zephyrhills, FL

Hector was loved by all that knew him and adored by his wife Amalia and his family. Hector will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Soar with angels wings Seor and we will see you again.
