BEST, Heber (Dick), 74 of Dade City, died On Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at his residence. Dick was born in Kinston, AL to William J. Best and Trudie Mae Best (Hall) and moved to Dade City in 1948. He worked construction for many years. Among local projects were the Pasco High School gymnasium and the hospital in Dade City.Dick was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Merlene, 3 brothers Jack Best, Charles Best, William Best and 2 sisters Morene Clinton and Sara Berry. He is survived by 2 sons Jamey and Allen Best both of Dade City, and 2 daughters Teresa (Joe) Johnson, of Dade City, and Melissa (Timothy) Youmans of Zephyrhills; 2 brothers, George Best of Melbourne, Florida and Tom Best of Kinston, Al.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.Dick's family will receive friends and family on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 4:00 p.m until 6:00 p.m at Hodges Funeral Home, 11441 Hwy 301, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m on Monday, Oct. 26, the entombment will take place at Chapel Hill Gardens Mausoleum.
