Harold Loftis, 92, known to his friends as “Gator,” was called to Heaven Friday, April 10th, 2026. He is survived by daughter Judy and husband David, granddaughter Jessica and husband Curt, and great-grandsons Finn and Beau. Sister: Pat, brother: Jimmy.
Harold “Gator” was born December 2nd, 1933 in Greenville County, South Carolina to his parents Etta and Eulie Rice. Gator joined the Marine Corps early in his life and fought for his country in the Korean War earning a purple heart. He met his wife Doris at the Publix in Clearwater where they were both working. Fell in love, married, and before their first anniversary became parents. Gator was a hard worker and landed a good job at Schlitz, eventually working his way up to brew master until his retirement.
Gator and Doris traveled in their later years and lived a good life. Doris passed before him, but now are reunited once again.
