It is with great sadness that the family of Gynith Scroggins announces her passing on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the age of 78 at the home of her granddaughter Kristina Beebe under the care of Gulfside Regional Hospice. She was born November 23, 1939 in Fort Pierce, FL to Harry Horne & Bonnie Journigan Horne. She moved to Dade City 44 years ago from Fort Pierce. She retired from Lykes Pasco Packing Company and was an avid gardener. Gynith is survived by 6 children: Alan Thomas, Farrell & Char Thomas, Jill Thomas, Wade and Cathy Scroggins, Kim & Gene Stanek, Joel and Cheryl Scroggins; 1 sister: Sandy Horne and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Scroggins, and sons Ryan Thomas and Jimmy Scroggins. A memorial service will be held 2pm Friday, February 16, 2018 at the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to Gulfside Regional Hospice. The family would like to thank granddaughter, Kristina Beebe, for taking such good care of her in her final days.
