Obituary

Guy Wayne Fussner, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 2nd, 2024, at the age of 79. He was born on October 26th, 1945, in Belleville, Illinois.

On June 26th, 1965, Guy married Carole Anne Kohlmeier, embarking on a lifelong journey together. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carole (Kohlmeier) Fussner, his parents, Raymond and Helen (Flach) Fussner, and his sisters, Sherri (Fussner) Weldele and Lucinda Fussner.

Guy is survived by his son, Michael (Laura) Fussner of Tampa, Florida; his daughter, Michelle (Daniel) Fussner of Zephyrhills, Florida; his brother, John (Charlotte) Fussner of Columbia, Missouri; and his grandchildren, Zachary Lockenvitz, Jarrod Fussner, Emma Fussner, and Daniel Benefiel. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Guy was known for his love of fishing, bowling, and his dogs, who brought him immense joy and companionship. He will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering support, and a life filled with passion for the great outdoors.

Throughout his diverse career, Guy worked in the retail, trucking, and mortgage industries, as well as owning and operating his own restaurant. He formed many lasting friendships and made significant contributions in each of these fields.

A celebration of Guy's life will be held in Tampa, Florida at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to go towards research for either Alzheimer's or American Diabetes Associations.

Revelation 21 verses 3-4:

I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, "Look, God's home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.[a] 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever."
