NIX, Gordon O., age 79, of Zephyrhills, passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on June 5, 2021. He was born on July 8, 1941 in Brinson, GA to parents Jake & Ida (Love) Nix. Gordon enjoyed fishing, gardening, yard/estate sales with his friend, David, and spending time with his wife and family. Gordon is a retired Dredge Operator and owned his own lawn service business. Gordon attended New Walk Church and Tropical Acres Baptist Church in Riverview, where his brother, Jake, was a deacon. He was so proud of him and it helped strengthen his faith. Along with his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by two sisters: Lizzie Beth Costa and Mary Jane Page; one brother, Jake Nix; three nephews: Pete Lewis, Michael Lewis, and Gene Lewis; and one niece, Amanda Rhodes.Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Norma K. (Meech) Nix; and seven children: Randy Nix (Tela), Chris Nix, Christie Leab (Jerry), Danny Nix (Jodie), Eric Nix (Jody), Lynne Nix, and Joseph Nix; two sisters: Elizabeth Campbell and Ellen Sturgill (Samuel); two brothers: J.E. Nix and Emory Nix (Audrey); twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and "schools" of nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel in Dade City, FL.
