Gloria Ellen Connor, age 71, of Dade City, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in Dade City.
Gloria was born on January 14, 1954, in Gadsden, Alabama, to Jeremiah F. Connor and Gloria (Jetta) Connor. She was one of seven siblings: Jeremiah (JR) Connor, Ann Connor, Patricia Connor (deceased), Micheal Connor (deceased), Teresa Connor, and Timothy Connor.
On November 23, 1973, in Albany, Georgia, Gloria married the love of her life, John Henry Mouw. Together, they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage.
Gloria was a proud graduate of Boca Ciega High School in St. Petersburg, Florida, and went on to earn degrees from Saint Leo University, graduating in both 1996 and 2007.
She dedicated 35 years of her life to education as a teacher with the District School Board of Pasco County, specializing in working with learning-disabled students. She had a passion for helping children succeed and was beloved by her students and colleagues alike.
Gloria lived in Albany, GA, Largo, FL, and eventually made her home in Dade City, FL.
A woman of many interests, Gloria loved reading, gardening, and was a devoted fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since 1976. She was also a Licensed Amateur Radio Operator (Call Sign: KD4NLE) and proudly graduated as a Florida Master Gardener Volunteer in the Class of 2025.
Gloria was known for her outgoing personality, infectious smile, and ability to make friends wherever she went. She loved her students dearly and touched countless lives with her kindness and warmth.
She is survived by her loving husband John H. Mouw, their children John Timothy Walton Mouw (Christina) and Heather Spring (Mouw) Novoa (Luciano), and her cherished grandchildren Nadia Novoa, Gemma Novoa, and Julissa Novoa. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jeremiah F. Connor and Gloria (Jetta) Connor, and siblings Patricia and Micheal Connor.
Services will be held at Mary's Episcopal Church in Dade City, Florida. The date and time will be announced at a later date.
Gloria will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to family, students, and community—and for a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and learning.
