Glenn S. Thayer
January 15, 1940 – October 24, 2026
Glenn S. Thayer, 86, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 24, 2026. A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and man of unwavering faith, Glenn lived a life centered around his family, his love for others, and his relationship with Jesus Christ.
Throughout his life, Glenn was a hardworking and selfless man who always put the needs of his family before his own. He was a wonderful provider, offering love, guidance, and support to those who meant the most to him. His dedication to his family was evident in the countless sacrifices he made and the example he set through his kindness, generosity, and steadfast devotion.
Glenn found great joy in working with his hands, especially through gardening and woodworking. He also had a heart for mentoring young people and spent time serving as a mentor to boys involved in Little League and Boy Scouts. Through his encouragement, patience, and willingness to share his knowledge, Glenn made a lasting difference in the lives of those he helped guide.
Above all, Glenn was a man of deep Christian faith. His love for Jesus Christ was an important part of who he was and how he lived his life. He leaves behind a beautiful example of faith, humility, and unconditional love that will continue to inspire his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Glenn is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Glenda Thayer; his three children, Jeff Thayer (Joyce), Sheri Koyles (John), and Chris Thayer (Sarah); seven grandchildren, Aydan Koyles (Kailey), Karis Koyles, Sarah Thayer, Taryn, Kamden, Kieran, and Makayla Thayer; and one great-grandchild, Elliana Koyles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Beulah Thayer, and his six siblings.
Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, his family finds comfort and peace in knowing that he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior. While they grieve his loss, they also rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that they will one day be reunited.
Glenn will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
In leu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to either the general fund of Discovery Fellowship of Dade City or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
