Gilberto "Pops" Tanguma Jr, 56, of Dade City passed away Tuesday, December 8th, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Weslaco, Texas; he moved to Immokalee, Florida at a very young age with his mother, and later resided in Wimauma, Florida where he spent most of his lifetime until moving to Dade City six years ago with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors; like fishing, grilling, and taking care of the yard while listening to his favorite music.

Gilberto was employed as a Professional Truck Driver working alongside with his brother for well over twenty year with R. Buitron Trucking.

Gilberto always prioritized his family and his own children: waking up early and returning home late from work to ensure his children have the life he always wanted them to have. He would always tell his children that they were always asleep when he would return from work late at night, or getting ready for work in the early morning.

He is survived with four children; Elizabeth Cortez, Mercedes Tanguma, Gilbert Tanguma, and Jenicia Tanguma; daughter-in-law, Anahi Tanguma; and eight grandchildren -- plus one on the way.

Gilberto "Pops" Tanguma Jr's Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 18th; the Visitation begins at 2:00 pm, and the sermon will officially begin at 5:00 pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home at 11441 US HWY 301, Dade City, FL 33525.
