Gil passed away at home with family on the morning October 3rd, 2016 from metastatic cancer. Gil was born on March 28, 1965 in Rochester, PA. He was the third child of Rudolph Luciano and Joanne (Harkins) Luciana. From Pennsylvania, Gil moved with his mother and siblings to Georgia and then eventually settled in Florida when he was a small child. He grew up on a dairy farm and continued in that field into his twenties. He prided himself on the training he received in the breeding of dairy cattle and spent most of his career working for Carey Cattle Company in Brandon, Florida. He then began a career as a mechanic in various fields, eventually ending up at Daniel Construction in Brooksville, Florida. Here he felt a strong camaraderie with his fellow employees and enjoyed working there until his illness began in the summer of 2015.Gil became a proud, single father at 32 to his son, Jacob James Luciana, 19, whom he raised by himself. Jacob was his pride and joy and what Gil loved most in the world.Gil married his beloved wife, Lynn Luciana, in 2012 and gained two step sons, Joe Glover and Ryan Creach, and a step daughter, Jordan Glover who was his princess. Gil was "Poppy" to his grandchildren, Alivia, Ryleigh and Bryson whom he adored.Gil loved spending time outdoors and could be found every afternoon like clockwork at 4:20 sitting on his front porch in the country enjoying his pipe and a cold Coors Light looking at nature and listening to classic rock.He will be dearly missed by his wife and children and all that knew him. He was a dear friend to many people. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Joanne, sisters Anita Wilson and Michelle Noel, and nephews EJ Sechrist and Brad Noel. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lynn, children Jacob, Joe, Jordan and Ryan, grandchildren Alivia, Ryleigh and Bryson, and brothers Randy Henderson and Phillip Richardson.Services will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home HWY 301 Dade City, FL on Saturday, October 15th, 2016. Visitation at 12:00 PM with services to follow at 1:00PM.**PLEASE BE AWARE that due to the San Antonio Rattlesnake Festival, additional travel time or an alternate route are recommended on Saturday the 15th if you are using State Road 52 to get to the funeral home. Consider coming through Zephyrhills instead.**
