Gertrude "Trudy" Marlene Bansee Greco born April 20, 1932 passed away in her apartment at 'The American House Senior Living Communities' on January 3, 2019 at the age of 86.
Born in Husum, Germany, Trudy graduated High School, decided to come to the United States, (New York), in 1955 under sponsorship of her uncle. Trudy worked as a Governess while learning English and studying for her United States citizenship. Trudy met her husband Ralph Gregorio Greco and they married in 1957. The couple owned 'Brite Cleaners', a dry cleaning business until moving to Zephyrhills in 1964. When crossing the railroad tracks across Fifth Avenue, Trudy referred to down town Zephyrhills as a "Marshall Dillon" town. Within an hour, rented the 'Round House' on Seventeenth Street until their home was built in Fort King Acres.
Trudy worked as a domestic, cleaning houses for individuals, and built up a sought after reputation in her profession, eventually working for the Lutheran Church - Zephyrhills, First Christian Church, (North Avenue), Zephyrhills, and First Methodist Church, - Zephyrhills.
Trudy was very involved for many years with 'Home Makers of Zephyrhills' in which she held the office of President for three years
Trudy is survived by her son Gregory Greco of Zephyrhills, Brother and Sister-In-Law Friedrich and Hannelore Bansee, of Lubeck, Germany, Sister-In-Law Karin Bansee of Lindlar, Germany, Niece and Husband Loraine and Edward Seder, of Danbury, Connecticut, Nephew and Partner Gary Pfaff, and Channon Elzea, of New Milford, Connecticut, Nephew and Wife Michael and Claudia Bansee of Lindlar-Scheel, Germany, Great Nephew and Wife Kenneth and Kristalynn Seder of Bedford Hills, New York, Great Niece and Husband Jennifer and Reverend Joel Cundiff, of Saint Joseph, Missouri.
Upon their request, Trudy and Ralph, (died December 26, 2013), did not want a viewing or memorial service. They both wanted the community to remember them in "what ever memories come to the people whose lives they touched".
2009: As per quote from Trudy and a personal letter addressed to her son, "the end of a story".
Trudy was laid to rest next to her husband Ralph of 55 years at Chapel Hill Gardens, Dade City on January 8, 2019.
