Gertrude Harenberg Block, daughter of the late George Harenberg and Johanne Balzer Harenberg, was born in Hamburg, Germany on July 2, 1920. She came to America and settled in New York for many years. In 1940 she married George Rudolph Block and had two children: the Reverend George Robert Block and Mrs Joanne Block Thompson. She was predeceased by her husband and daughter. She worked as a secretary and office manager. She retired to Zephyrhills and attended Zephyrhills Alliance Church on a regular basis. She is survived by her son, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.A memorial service will be held at the Alliance Church on Monday, October 20th at 9:30 am. A graveside committal service qill be held at Chapel Hill Gardens at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to hospice.
