Georgia Vera Welty, 92, of Temple Terrace passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 following a lengthy illness at Brighton Garden in Tampa.

She is survived by a sister, Murley Jean Walters. She was the daughter of the late Ed and Gertrude Chitwood, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester Welty, seven sisters, Nola Byrd, Lena Watson, Virginia Foster, Ruth George, Ovoca Young, Mina Wiseman, Lois Ballard and three brothers, Alonzo Chitwood, Edward Chitwood and John Chitwood.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tampa.

Interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa Florida.

Hodges Family Funeral Home of Dade City, Florida is handling the arrangements.
