In loving memory of George Sykes Jr., 76, of Dade City. Who passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on Saturday June 22, 2024. He is predeceased by his wife Shirley Sykes who passed December of 2005. He is survived by his two children James and Elizabeth. His son in law David Sr., Four grandchildren; Barry, Kayla, David Jr, Kenny, and one great granddaughter. He had three brothers' and one sister. George was a Vietnam Vet. with the USMC. He served our country for eight years leaving with an honorable discharge in 1974. He worked at Agri-timber sawmill as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He then went on to work for his brother Albert at Star Distribution, as an equipment operator before retiring. His hobbies included fishing, playing card games, bowling, and spending time with the animals. His best friend was our 16 yr. old chihuahua who passed away in March of 2024. George was cremated at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. His remains will be placed at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Memorial Donation
