George Elbert Marshall Sr 74, of Dade City passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 at his home under the care of Gulfside Hospice. He was born July 19, 1943 in Altha, FL to Jessie Elbert & Sarah Thelma Marshall. He moved to Dade City 48 years ago from Blountstown, FL and retired from the Florida Highway Patrol after 26 years of service. He was an active member of the Lacoochee Church of God, now called Lifestyle Church of God, was an avid fisherman, in his later years he enjoyed sharing the gospel as a fisher of men, but his favorite activity was spending time with his family. George is survived by his wife of 53 years: Juanita Marshall; 3 children: George E. Marshall II, Danita Ann (Chuck) Balderstone, Andria (Robert) Heinz; 5 grandchildren: Michael Hernandez, Nicholas Hernandez, Jessica Balderstone, Christopher Balderstone, Sophia Heinz; and 1 sister: Elizabeth McClellan. He was predeceased by his parents Jessie & Thelma Marshall, sisters Audrey Williams, Dyann Pitts, brother Garland Marshall & granddaughter Julianna Heinz.Visitation will be held Thursday evening, September 28th from 6-7pm at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. Funeral Services will be held 12pm(CST) Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Macedonia First Baptist Church in Blountstown, FL. The family will receive friends for viewing one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
