Obituary

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL and CARIBOU, ME George L. Kimball, 85, passed away on August 10, 2016 in Caribou, ME. He was born on February 20, 1931, in Brushton, NY. He was the son of the late Samuel and Gladys (Bellows) Kimball. George attended St. Regis Falls Central School in New York. For a short period of time after school, George worked for Ingersoll-Rand Corp and Bethlehem Steel. In 1951, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, and served with the Military Police during the Korean War. In 1961, George left the military to work for Bechtel Corp as an engineer on a missile site at Cape Kennedy, now known as Cape Canaveral. In 1971, George purchased a small travel trailer park in Zephyrhills, FL and continued to work for Reedy Creek Development. Reedy Creek was a major developer of Walt Disney World. In 1974, George went to work for Suburban Propane in Zephyrhills. In 1976, George decided to convert to the Catholic faith, and was very much involved in the Catholic Church. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills, where he was a Lector, and involved with the local Catholic radio station. In 1979, George joined the Naval Reserves as a Seabee. George met his wife, Bertha Ouellette, while he was stationed at Loring Air Force Base. George and Bertha were married in May of 1955, and were blessed with 53 years of marriage, until she predeceased him, in January of 2008. During his life, and after retirement, George and his family travelled to Maine in the summers, and back to Florida in the winter. In August of 2008, he married Shirley Dubay, of Caribou, Maine. For 6 years, they spent winters together in Zephyrhills. In 2015, they moved to their little dream house in Davenport, FL. Shirley and George were married for 8 years, but even in that short time, they did more things together than some people do in a lifetime. Surviving in addition to his wife, Shirley, are his beloved children: Debbie Kimball, and her partner, Barbara Shelton of Port Richie, FL; Gary Kimball, and his wife Mary Jane, of Fort Pierce, FL; Carol Keel, and her husband John of Port St. Lucie, FL; Jason Kimball and his wife Kelly of Live Oak, FL; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Remember my children, I am now going to see your mother, until one day we will all be re-united. My life has been good, and God has given me many blessings. You all have much work left to be completed. Surviving in addition to his own children and grandchildren, are his beloved step children: Craig Dubay, and his wife Cheryl; Paula Graves, and her husband Jim; two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
