George Edwin Carver, 90, of Dade City, FL, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026 under the care of Gulfside Regional Hospice. He was born August 29, 1935, in Live Oak, Florida, to Lucille and George Carver. He attended Florida State University where he met his wife Pat. They moved to New Orleans where he attended and graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry. After graduation in 1960, they moved to Dade City where he opened his dental practice. He was a longtime resident of Dade City for 66 years, and was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Dade City, now Discover Fellowship Church. Pat, his wife of 65 years, preceded him in death in 2022. He is survived by his three children: Ed Carver and his wife Robin, Marcia Piersall and her husband Keith, and Susan Carver. George was known as Papa or Pops to his four grandchildren and one great granddaughter: Isaac Piersall, his wife Amanda, and their daughter Zoey, Chloe Cascio and her husband Alex, Chris Carver and his wife Kaylee, and Alex Carver and his fiancee Georgia Benish. George was also preceded in death by his parents, who loved their “George Edwin” beyond measure. George was a dedicated father and grandfather as patriarch of his family. He also served many dental patients in the Dade City area for 37 years. He loved to play tennis and golf and enjoyed snow skiing and attending sporting events. He and Pat enjoyed their cabin in the North Carolina mountains for many years after his retirement. They also enjoyed gatherings with their many friends and family. George was buried next to Pat on May 9, 2026 at Chapel Hill Gardens. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday June 20, 2026, at 3:00 at Discover Fellowship Church, 12561 Smith Road, Dade City, FL 33525.
