George Wayne Carter, 85, of Dade City, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
Wayne was born on June 7, 1941, in Dade City, Florida. He lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and genuine kindness toward others. As the owner and operator of Wayne's Auto Parts, Wayne built not only a successful business but also lasting relationships throughout the community. He also proudly served in the Army Reserve.
Wayne was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing, hunting, dancing, storytelling, and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and family. He had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. His warm smile, generous spirit, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His kindness and generosity touched countless lives and will be remembered for years to come.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda Carter; his children, Steve (Annie) Carter, Joy (Bruce) Register, Mark (Donna) Cramer, James (Malinda) Cramer, Brian Kaylor; his grandchildren, Amber (Chris) Bennett, Kayla Carter, Cheyanne Carter, Laci Carter, Shalyn Carter, Leena Davenport, Kersten Davenport, Jasmine Davenport, McKenzie (Trevor) Gibson, Scott (Kayla) Gedeist, Ryan (Buffy) Gedeist, James (Amanda) Cramer II, Garrett Cramer, Linsey Cramer, Travis Parish, and Lala Johnson; 23 great-grandchildren and his sister, Linda Beck. He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory and continue the legacy of love, laughter, and generosity that he shared so freely.
A memorial service celebrating Wayne's life will be held on June 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Hodges Family Funeral Home. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather at the Carter residence to share memories and honor his life.
Though he will be deeply missed, Wayne's stories, laughter, wisdom, and love will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
