Best, George , 86, of Dade City, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. He was born in Coffee County, Alabama on March 12, 1933, the son of William Jackson and Trudy Mae Hall Best. Georges ultimate passion and favorite hobby was fishing. He was the self-proclaimed Speckled Perch King. He is survived by his significant other, Lillian Steele; son, Gary Best and his wife Nancy; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer and Joshua; and 1 great grandson, Jaxson. He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Shirley Faye; 4 brothers, Thomas, Bill, Dick, and Jack; and 2 sisters, Idona and Maureen. Family will receive friends on Monday, March 9th from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Dade City Cemetery. Hodges Family Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
