Garry Wayne Gilbert Sr. was 68 years old he lived at 36640 Patton Rd. Dade City, FL. 33523. He passed away on Febuary 28th 2023, at his sons home in Land O Lakes, Fl.

Garry Sr. was born in Flat Rock, Alabama on Sep. 25th 1954 to Vernon Jasper Gilbert and Katherine Louise Whisenate. He was one of 12 children, three sisters, and eight brothers. He attended Pasco High School located in Dade City and earned his High School diploma. He was a plant manager at Lykes Pasco for over a decade and served the citizens of Dade City while working for the municipality for over 20 years and retired from the City of Dade City. He married Judy Gail Scoggins and the two gave birth to their only child Garry Wayne Gilbert Jr.

He loved working with his hands, and spending time with his son, and grand children. He built his own work shop on his property, taught his son and grandchildren to fix their own vehicles. He loved fishing, or just relaxing in the country and watching his grandkids play in the backyard. He would help anyone that needed it and never hesitated to help his family with anything they needed, from fixing a faucet to building steps for the porch. He is survived by his son Garry Jr., Sister Joann Brisco, and Brothers, Larry and Bill Gilbert. His daughter -In- Law Emily, and grandchildren Morgan, Trent, and Garry III. Visitation will take place 10:30-11 AM at Hodges Funeral Home in Zephyrhills on March 6th with a Memorial service to be conducted at 11AM, followed by a celebration of life potluck lunch on his property.
