Obituary

CARMANY, Frederick "Fred" Lee, age 87, of Lakeland, passed away on December 1, 2020. He was born May 8, 1933 in Anderson, IN to parents Verbian Carmany & Edith (Baker) Carmany.

In his youth, Fred played basketball, baseball and was a member of FFA. He served 4 years in the Navy on the USS Whitley AKA-91 during the Korean War. He also owned a refrigeration and appliance business prior to moving to Florida in 1973. He was later employed as head maintenance engineer at Community General Hospital (AdventHealth) in Dade City, Florida where he retired in 1993 after 20 years.

Fred was a member of the Assemblies of God and served the Lord as an usher and was involved with youth and church bus ministry.

He loved to tinker and was known for his ability to fix anything. He was happiest when helping others and loved to joke around and make people laugh.

Fred is survived by his wife, Darlene Carmany; two sisters, Katie Wallace and Judy Graham; three children: Trenna Hicks (Mike), Freddie Carmany (Cathy), and Louise Huelskamp (Jeff); and three grandchildren: Ruby Hicks, Steven Carmany, and Jeffrey Huelsklamp. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Elroy and Marvin.
