RODRIGUEZ, Freddie "Papi", 78, of Clermont, FL, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Tampa, FL. He was born on April 12, 1943 in Manati, Puerto Rico to Parents, Miguel Angel Rodriguez and Antonia Robles.
Freddie had a beautiful childhood as he grew up in Manati while being raised by his grandparents. He met his love of his life, Oria E. Aviles and it was love at first sight, they were joined together inmarriage on August 20, 1966 in Chicago, IL, and they enjoyed 55 years of a beautiful and loving marriage. Together they enjoyed shopping at pawn shops and providing musical instruments for schools. Freddie had a passion for baseball as he played second base and shortstop for the Knights of St. John in Chicago and even coached for the Bravos in Puerto Rico. Freddie loved serving God, and his family was the most important thing for him, and made sure his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all knew God.
Freddie is survived by his loving wife, Oria E. Rodriguez, Children; Tony Plana, Cynthia Rodriguez-McCracken (Billy), Freddie A. Rodriguez, and Kimberly Van Zile, Grandchildren; Anthony Plana, Cachet Bouher, Chrystal Colon (Louis), Br. Apollo Rodriguez OSB, Antonio Rodriguez, David Kirshembaum (Gina), Greatgrandchildren; Aiden, Eliana, Xavier, Juliana, Jacob, Joshua, Jordan, and Angelina. Siblings; Rosaura Rodriguez, Rosalida Gonzalez, Providencia Rodriguez de Hood, and Eva Rodriguez. Nieces; Rosa Iris, Janet, Jacqueline, Autumn, Maria, Aida, Migdalia, and Nephew; Matthew, and many friends all over the country, and faithful furry companion; Rudy Champ.
Preceded in death by Daughter, Wilma Kirshembaum, Siblings; Miguel, Ruben, Luis, and Armando, and faithful furry companion; Lady-Lady.
Services are entrusted to the care of Hodges Family Funeral Home, a Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, February 5th ,2022, 2pm, at Saint Leo Abbey Catholic Church.
