Collura, F.J., 67 a lifelong area resident, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 in Dade City. He was born May 19, 1945 in Dade City to Joe & Katherine Collura and retired from the Pasco County Sheriffs Department after many years of service and heading up the Crime Prevention Unit. He was a committed and proud member of the community, serving on multiple boards including: Pasco County Fair Association, Pasco County Extension Advisory Committee, Pasco Historical Society, R.A.G.E., Saint Leo University Alumni Board, WorkForce Housing Ventures and the Florida Insurance Training Institute where he taught continuing education. He is survived by his wife: Janet Rodriguez Collura, Dade City, FL; 3 children: Chris & Debbie Collura, Dade City, FL, Leann & Robert Huffman, Land OLakes, FL, Matt & Conny Collura, Dade City, FL; sister: Carolyn Collura, Ridge Manor, FL; 6 grandchildren: Sadie, Hayes, Lauren, Claire, Aubrey and Ryley. Funeral services will be held 10am Thursday, August 16, 2012 at St. Leo Abbey Church. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Wednesday evening at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. Flowers will be appreciated, but the family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to the Saint Leo University Scholarship Fund.
